01Festival
When is PIFF?+
PIFF takes place 26–29 August 2027.
Where is PIFF?+
Stockholm, Sweden. Planned venue: Münchenbryggeriet, Stockholm.
Is the venue confirmed?+
PIFF is currently planned at Münchenbryggeriet in central Stockholm. The final venue partnership will be confirmed together with the first programme drop.
Who is PIFF for?+
Filmmakers, actors, producers, artists, industry professionals, funders, broadcasters, audiences and film lovers - international and local.
Are hearing people welcome?+
Absolutely. PIFF is an international film festival open to everyone. Sign language cinema and Deaf-led film are at the centre - but the festival is for any audience that loves bold cinema.
Are all films in sign language?+
Sign language cinema and Deaf-led film are central to PIFF. The programme may also include adjacent works - documentaries, shorts, hybrid works and AI motion shorts - when they have strong relevance to the festival's artistic direction. All films are treated as cinema first.
Will films have captions/subtitles?+
Yes. All selected films must include English captions or subtitles. Films with spoken dialogue must include captions.
02Tickets & Passes
Are tickets on sale?+
Not yet. Estimated pricing is published on the Tickets & Passes page. Final tiers will be announced before sale.
How do I get notified when sales open?+

Do you offer discounted access?+
Yes - a Community pass is planned for Deaf community, students, young audiences and limited-access groups, in limited quantity.
Is dinner included in the gala pass?+
No. The Gala + Afterparty pass covers awards, performance and the afterparty. Food and drinks may be available through the venue or selected vendors.
03Submissions
Can I submit a film?+
Yes. PIFF prioritises sign language cinema, Deaf-led film and work with meaningful Deaf creative participation. Full categories, eligibility rules and fee preview are on the Submit a Film page. Submission platform and deadlines will be announced.
Can I submit an AI film?+
Yes - see the AI Motion Shorts strand. Maximum 12 minutes. AI use must be declared and serve the work.
What is PIFF Originals?+
PIFF Originals is the festival's production initiative for new short-form work. See the PIFF Originals page.
What is the Black Flag Grant?+
An annual development or production grant for one bold new film idea. See the Black Flag Grant page.
